Usually grab saved screenshots in your Documents folder and if you didn’t rename the image it was saved as Untitled. Grab (which was located in a Utilities folder in the Applications folder) could be used to take screenshots. If you haven’t already installed macOS 10.14 Mojave or later on your Mac (Mojave came in 2018), you have a screenshot app called Grab available. (We explain how to do that and some other ways to tidy up your desktop in How to Organize Your Mac Desktop.) If you use Desktop Stacks (which is another feature introduced in macOS Mojave), you can organize your desktop so that all your screenshots are neatly stored in a folder. Mac screenshots are saved to the desktop by default and are named like “Screenshot at 16.20.56”, which indicates the date and time the screenshot was taken. If you want screenshots to go to a folder or even to your pasteboard, we’ll show you how. In this article, we’ll show you how to change where screenshots are saved on your Mac.
